If you are displeased with the appearance of your facial profile then maybe an ear, eye or nose surgery could be for you. An alteration of a few millimeters of augmentation can change a profile just enough to achieve an enhanced, more natural look. During a facial consultation your profile will be evaluated and measured to determine the amount of projection or balance the facial contours need to provide a natural and appealing outcome. You will have photographs taken and we will discuss our recommendations.
The most visible part of your body is your face. It is also the first part of the body that shows the signs of aging. Facial aging results in a loss of skin elasticity and firmness, sagging tissue and wrinkles. These signs of aging can impact how we feel about ourselves. A facelift (or rhytidecotmy) is a surgical procedure to improve the visible signs of aging in the face and neck. A facelift smoothes the loose skin on your face and neck, tightens underlying tissues, and removes excess fat.
Mid-face sagging can create a deep crease below the lower eyelid, nose and mouth that can make you appear tired and sad. Loss of muscle tone in the lower face or fat that has fallen may create jowls. A neck lift in combination with a face lift can address this particular problem. They are designed to correct all of these aging features, giving you a more youthful rested appearance.
A weak or undeveloped chin in a female can make the nose appear larger and the neck ill-defined. With just a few millimeters of augmentation to the chin, the entire profile of the female face can be improved. You may want to consider a chin augmentation procedure if you have the following concerns:
- Dissatisfaction with your facial profile due to a small or poorly defined chin
Chin augmentation surgery is performed as an outpatient under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with IV sedation. Through a small incision concealed in the crease under your chin, a pocket is created along the jaw line and a permanent customized implant is positioned to augment the bony structure of the chin and jaw. Scar tissue will form around the implant, holding it in place and keeping the implant from moving.
Botox is a cost effective procedure we offer to help smooth lines cause by facial movements. We also offer a variety of dermal fillers to minimize grooves around the mouth, near the eyes, and to add volume to the lips or cheeks. We use injectable volumizers, such as Juvederm, which is a hyaluronic acid (HA) based filler made by Allergan. HA is a natural sugar complex found in all living cells and one of the major components of the dermis connective tissue matrix, along with collagen and elastin.
Consultation and treatment take about an hour, so a visit to our office could be squeezed in during a long lunch hour. Your new look will last six months to two years, depending on what skin rejuvenation product you opt for, its placement, the dosage, and other variables. This non-invasive treatment costs several hundred dollars, depending on the amount you have injected. Yearly touchups will be required to maintain your refreshed look, but we have a reward program that enables you to earn discounts on additional Botox and Juvederm filler treatments.
