MicroLaser Peel

The Sciton MicroLaserPeel ™ is the latest advancement in treating such conditions as fine lines & wrinkles, scars, acne scars and pigmentary problems. This procedure is designed for people who expect better results than a microdermabrasion or light chemical peels, want immediate results, but have little time for a prolonged healing process. Patient recovery from the Sciton MicroLaser Peel ™ is rapid, typically experiencing smoother, healthier and more vibrant skin. Symptoms immediately following the procedure resemble sunburn, with mild weeping, which can last 1-3 days. The procedure may be performed on a Thursday or Friday, so you may return to work the following Monday. Any mild discomfort you may experience can easily be managed with an over the counter pain reliever. Depending on individual desired results, one procedure could be sufficient for at least 6 to 12 months. However, typically, the procedure is repeated 2-4 times, spaced 6-8 weeks apart.

Profractional™ Laser Resurfacing

Profractional™ resurfacing uses laser energy to create thousands of microscopic channels in the skin, stimulating the production of collagen, smoothing out lines, scars and other irregularities. Immediately following the procedure you may experience a mild redness, resembling a sunburn sensation. Complete healing takes 2-5 days and most patients can get back to work and apply makeup within 4-7 days after the procedure. Profractional™ is a fast procedure done in our office, usually taking 30 minutes to an hour.

The Premier Rejuvenation Peel- combines a MicroLaserPeel™ and Profractional™ for a more dramatic improvement in the overall appearance of the skin. The MicroLaserPeels ™ high energy is used to remove the thin, dead layer of skin and is then followed by Profractional™ resurfacing, which uses laser energy to create thousands of microscopic channels in the skin which are surrounded by areas of untreated skin.

Skin Rejuvenation

Perhaps when you look in the mirror you see the effects of the sun on your skin or your skin just doesn’t have the freshness and youthfulness that it once had. Or maybe you look at your hands or neck and notice those brown spots appearing. BBL ® (Broadband Light) skin rejuvenation therapy at Premier Skin Care Center is a remarkable breakthrough for men and women. BBL broadband light is an innovative technology that sets new standards for the treatment of skin conditions associated with aging, active life-styles and sun damage. BBL broadband light energy allows us to precisely treat age and sun spots. Your treatment will be tailored to your skin’s condition and your desired result. The treatments are gentle and require no downtime!

During BBL® Skin Rejuvenation, a cold gel is applied to the treatment area. An anesthetic cream may be applied also to the treatment area, but is usually not necessary. The specially designed BBL ® hand piece is gently pressed to your skin in order to administer controlled pulses of light. Some patients mention a slight stinging during treatment, comparing the sensation to that of a rubber band snap.

Perioral/Periorbital Resurfacing

Perioral/Periorbital Resurfacing – Localized deeper perioral (area around the lips) and periorbital (area around the eyes) laser resurfacing for deeper wrinkles can be performed in the office setting by one of our Board Certified Plastic Surgeons after a local anesthetic block is administered to the treatment area. This deeper localized resurfacing treatment is often performed along with the Premiere Rejuvenation Peel in conjunction with our licensed esthetician to achieve dramatic results.

Hair Reduction

Waxing is a method of semi-permanent hair removal from eyebrows, face, bikini area, legs, arms, back and abdomen. If waxing is done regularly for many years, permanent hair reduction may happen. Hair must be at least ¼ inches long. All products such as AHA, Retin-A, Renova and Accutane, as well as tanning bed use or direct sun exposure must be divulged to the esthetician before treatment to ensure utmost safety.

Sciton BBL ® Hair Removal uses a broadband light to gently remove unwanted hair, putting an end to routine shaving and waxing. This advanced technology transcends the older, painful hair removal treatments to deliver long-lasting results. The Sciton BBL ® treats more than one hair at a time, making it possible to treat both small areas on the face as well as lager areas such as back, chest, shoulders, arms, and legs. During BBL ® hair removal, a cold gel is applied to the treatment area. An anesthetic cream may be applied also to the treatment area, but is usually not necessary. Some patients mention a slight stinging during treatment, comparing the sensation to that of a rubber band snap.

Skin Tyte™

The SkinTyte™ treatment is based on the principle of selective thermolysis and utilizes Sciton’s BBL pulsed light technology to deeply heat your skin while cooling and protecting the entire treated surface. SkinTyte™ can be provided quickly with no downtime, resulting in a more youthful appearance. SkinTyte™ offers a non-ablative approach to firmer skin. The process promotes the stimulation of collagen leading to increased skin firmness. The SkinTyte™ treatment is FDA approved to treat wrinkles and increase the firmness of the skin, is safe for all skin types and can be performed on multiple areas of the body including the face, neck, hands, arms, and abdomen. During the treatment a cold gel is applied, then a hand piece is pressed to the skin to administer controlled pulses of light. Many patients experience a deep warming sensation during treatment.

Blue Light Acne Treatment

BBL (broadband light) Blue Light technology is one of the most effective acne therapies available today. In many cases, we can prevent our clients from needing to go on aggressive oral medications or long-term antibiotics. The shorter wavelengths of BBL, in the blue-light spectrum, attack p-acnes bacteria on the surface and in the sebaceous gland, thus killing the bacteria and preventing future breakouts and diminishing current breakouts. During Blue Light treatment cold gel is applied to the treatment area. The specially designed BBL hand piece is gently pressed to your skin in order to administer controlled pulses of light. Some patients mention a slight warming sensation during treatment.

How Many MicroLaser Peels ™ Can Be Done?

Depending on an individual and preferred desired results, one procedure could be sufficient for at least 6 to 12 months. However, typically, the procedure is repeated 2-4 times, spaced 6-8 weeks apart.

How many hair reduction treatments will I need?

You may need to be treated from 6-8 times at intervals of 4-6 weeks. There are three phases of hair growth – anagen, catagen and telogen. Only hairs in the active growth phase, anagen, can be successfully treated. Some larger areas of the body may need a few extra treatments.

What should I do prior to a hair reduction treatment?

Before an initial LHR or BBL hair removal consult, it is best to leave an area unshaved so that the esthetician can see what color and texture your hair is, which will help determine if you are a good candidate for hair reduction therapies.

Once it is decided that you are a good candidate for BBL hair removal, for maximum effectiveness it is recommended you shave the area to be treated prior to your BBL hair removal treatment. However, you should avoid waxing, tweezing and bleaching the hair prior to hair removal treatments and during the course of treatment because these grooming activities can decrease the effectiveness of the Laser or BBL hair removal treatments. Hair needs to be present in the follicle for laser or BBL treatments to be most effective. Since waxing or plucking pulls hair out of the follicle, recently waxed or plucked areas will not be suitable for treating. On the day of treatment wear comfortable clothing.

What should you expect after a hair reduction treatment?

Post Treatment Response

Hair has three phases of growth: active growth phase, an intermediate non-growth phase, and a resting phase with no hair follicle present. Duration of hair growth cycles vary with the location on the body. The BBL can only eliminate the hair that is currently in an active growth cycle so multiple treatments are necessary over a time span (4-6 week intervals) to remove hair from most areas. Final results may not be apparent for several months post treatment.

Post Treatment Care

Following a BBL hair removal treatment you may experience some redness and slight swelling in the area that has been treated; however, this should subside within a few hours. Any post treatment discomfort may be relieved by acetaminophen or similar mild analgesic. A cold compress or an ice pack can be used after treatment to provide comfort. You may shower with cool water on the treatment area 8 to 12 hours after your BBL hair removal treatment.

The unwanted hair begins to fall out over one to two weeks. Keep the treated area clean, use a least SPF 35 sunscreen when outdoors, and please do not use tanning beds or self tanners while undergoing treatments. You may shave the treated area after 3 days following a BBL hair removal treatment. Do not pluck or wax or use a chemical exfoliant between treatments. Do NOT shave or trim the treated area for the first 3 days. If the treated area is irritated the area should not be rubbed with a face cloth or towel. Avoid scrubbing. The area should be patted dry.

What should be expected from a microlaser peel?

You will experience smoother, healthier, more vibrant skin, with a significant, immediate change in skin texture and tightness as compared to microdermabrasion.

What is laser hair reduction?

Permanent hair reduction can be achieved by light based technology including laser hair removal or hair removal with Broad Band Light (BBL) or Intense Pulse Light (IPL) technology. At Premier Skin Care Center we utilize the state of the art Sciton BBL technology that targets hair follicles for the purpose of selectively destroying them while leaving the surrounding tissue (skin) intact. The purpose of the BBL hair removal procedure is to diminish or remove unwanted hair from the face and or body.

What is the difference between BBL/IPL and laser hair removal?

BBL (or IPL) is a broad band light that emits energy in consistent and carefully timed pulses. Laser hair removal technology emits light in a sudden burst of energy. BBL hair removal is typically more comfortable than laser hair removal.

How does BBL hair reduction work?

BBL or IPL hair removal works by emitting pulses of intense light into the targeted hair follicles. The light is then absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and is converted to heat. The heat loosens the hair and disrupts the cells responsible for growing new hair. BBL hair removal is very effective at reducing unwanted hair. Although it is more accurate to call Laser hair reduction or BBL (IPL) hair removal permanent hair reduction rather than removal. 100% removal cannot be guaranteed with any hair removal technology but significant permanent hair reduction is achieved with BBL hair removal.

What conditions can be treated with the ProFractional™ laser resurfacing?

ProFractional™ can be used to improve a wide variety of skin conditions, but is used most for wrinkles and fine lines, post-traumatic scars, acne scars, age spots, sun spots, aging and sun-damaged skin.

What is a ProFractional ™ procedure like?

ProFractional™ is a fast procedure done in our office. The procedure normally takes 30 minutes to one hour depending on the condition and size of the area treated. A topical numbing agent will be applied in advance to help with any discomfort you may experience during the procedure.

How many ProFractional™ treatments will I need?

ProFractional™ is typically done in a series of 1-4 treatments, spaced 6-8 weeks apart, depending on your needs. Our physician directed team will personalize a treatment plan based on your desired results.

What should I expect after a ProFractional™ treatment?

Immediately following the procedure you may experience a mild redness, resembling a sunburn sensation. Complete healing takes 2-5 days and most patients can get back to work and apply makeup within 4-7 days after the procedure.

How many BBL® skin rejuvenation treatments will I need?

Typically 2-4 treatments at 3 week intervals will produce the desired results. You may benefit from additional treatments depending on the severity of your condition.

What should I expect after a BBL® skin rejuvenation treatment?

You may experience some redness that should resolve in a few hours. For sun damage, age spots and pigmented lesions you will see a darkening of the treated areas followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. Your skin will feel smoother, fine lines and pores will be less noticeable, and sunspots or uneven pigmentation will fade.

How many skintyte treatments will I need?

A series of 3-4 treatments spaced a month apart is typical for most patients. The esthetician will personalize a treatment plan based on the level of improvement you desire.

What results should I expect with the SkinTyte procedure?

You may experience some redness that should resolve in a few hours. The SkinTyte ™ procedure is not a substitute for a face-lift and results vary from patient to patient. The SkinTyte ™ procedure is recommended for patients who desire moderate, noticeable skin improvement without having to undergo surgery. Full results often take up to six months as the collagen foundation of your skin is rebuilt and strengthened.

How many Blue Light Acne treatments should be expected?

We recommend a series of 6 treatments 2-3 weeks apart until the breakouts are under control. Once the breakouts are under control you may need to maintain the results with a periodic follow up treatment. This treatment may also be combined with Microdermabrasion for deeper penetration.

What should be expected after a Blue Light Acne treatment?

You may experience some redness that should resolve in a few hours. There is no downtime from this procedure.
